10 years in business calls for a celebration!
From becoming a small start-up in March 2009 to a thriving contracting company in 2019, Managing Director Stephen Humphreys has spoken about how the business has grown over the last decade.

SHMS Contracting started after Stephen, an accountant who deals with several construction companies, saw how much other companies providing these services charged. So, a decision was made. We would provide a better service at a more competitive price, and ensure it worked well for both the subbies themselves as well as the client companies.

“Due to the increasing number of clients and subcontractors we’re dealing with we have recently invested in an online portal. This gives subbies 24-hour access to their contracts and payment information.
“This has been incredibly popular. The portal has gone down very well with subbies! It speeds up the registration process and makes everything a lot easier for everyone concerned.

“We’ve also added Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurance for all SHMS subcontractors as an added bonus for their peace of mind.”
The Future
In a business sector that is often blighted by “fly by night” contracting companies that come and go, SHMS Contracting has been around for a decade now and looks forward to continuing to provide their unrivalled services for the next 10 years and more.
